hosting a slew of “edgy” rock
artists like Sleigh Bells ** and Jack
White ** this season, as well as
YouTube sensations like LANA
DEL REY and Karmin, it’s easy to
understand why boy band fans
are wondering the “SNL” love is.
But fear not, pop diehards, for
your time has come: One
Direction, those lovable teen
moppets from across the pond,
are making their “SNL” debut next
The five-piece will perform on the
April 7 episode of the long-
running variety show, with
“Modern Family” star Sofia
Vergara also slated to appear on
“Saturday Night Live” for the first
time. The news arrives one day
before the group’s debut album,
“Up All Night,” is released in the
U.S. on Tuesday (Mar. 13), after
bewitching most of the U.K. upon
its release last November.
Earlier today, One Direction made
its debut on another NBC show,
“The Today Show,” with a
performance of their hit single
“What Makes You Beautiful.” With
68 million YouTube views since
its music video launched last
August, “Beautiful” clocks in at No.
