Why do pages take so long to load?

One of the many frustrations that people have with the Internet is that web pages load slowly…some slower than others, and the pages that you don’t necessarily care the most about load quickly, whereas the ones that you’d like to get to ASAP, take a lot of time to load.

There are a lot of reasons for a slow webpage…

It could be your Internet connection. Are you using dial-up? That will make your web pages take a lot longer to load. Is your wireless Internet working slowly? You can tell how your Internet connection is by by looking at the bars at the bottom right hand corner of your computer to see how many bars are filled in…if not all five bars are filled in, your Internet connection isn’t working at full capacity and there’s probably something interrupting your service (heavy traffic, weather affects Internet connections, etc).
